Beverly graduated from 8th grade at Redeemer Lutheran School and West High School in Denver. She attended Colorado State University, Aims Community College and USDA Graduate School. She has an Associates Degree in Farm and Ranch Management.
After 28 years, she retired from the USDA Forest Service as an Administrative Officer and Equal Employment Specialist. However, instead of retiring and taking it easy, she owned and operated two full service travel agencies for 12 years. Her experience over the years includes a variety of jobs from a soda jerk at the local drugstore, to a statistical analyst for Bureau of Land Management, receptionist and business assistant for several private companies, stamp redemption store manager, safety and training instructor, Federal Women’s Program Manager and Administrative Officer for eight Washington Office Units located in Fort Collins.
From a very early age, Bev has been active in the communities where she lived. She was an officer in her church’s Walther League for teens, assistant coach for the grade school girl’s softball team, mentored underprivileged youth and taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.
In Fort Collins, she was an advisor to the Fort Collins High School PACE program, helped organize a new Missouri Synod Lutheran Mission Church and served as the President of the newly formed Lutheran Women’s Missionary Society as well as teaching Sunday School, leading the Altar Guild and serving on the Worship Committee. She was also a member of the Parent Advisory Board when her children were in Junior and Senior High School and President of the high school Booster Club.
While working for the Forest Service in Denver, Beverly organized a Toastmistress Club for women working at the Denver Federal Center. After moving to Fort Collins, she continued with the local Toastmistress Club and moved up to Council and Regional positions where she planned and organized several regional conferences. These experiences led her to become the Federal Women’s Program Manager for the Rocky Mountain Station where she developed the Federal Women’s Day conference for federally employed women in Larimer County and later the 3-day Working Woman’s Conference for all women in the area. She was also one of the founding members of the Women’s Development Council. The Working Women’s Conference was so successful, a scholarship for women re-entering the work force was established and funded at Colorado State University.
She served on the Larimer County Federal Executives Association board chairing many committees and leading the Combined Federal Campaign and United Way to record setting donation levels.
After selling her travel agency Bev officially retired. Bev continued to serve on church committees and local organizations including the Severance Progressive Club, the Severance Days Committee, Windsor-Severance Library Foundation Board, and the Women’s Task force for the Colorado Rural Electric Association. She also keeps the books for the family business operations.
With her husband Jack, they developed Baldridge Subdivision of 117 home sites and built their beautiful home. Not only was it a wonderful place to live, it was a great place for entertaining and hosting family and community events.
Bev and Jack loved to travel. They enjoyed visiting the following: Tahiti, French Polynesia, Germany, London, Australia, Faulkland Islands, Chili, Ireland, Venezuela, Austria, Holland, Spain, Greece, Panama, Argentina, New Zealand, Marroco. They thoroughly enjoyed their home in Tucson AZ and Condo in Ixtapa Mexico.
Along with their love of travel, they loved to play golf. They were members of the Eaton Country Club and Pelican Lakes Country Club. Bev was also a member of the Colorado Golf Association.
