Bill D. Howie, 84, of Greeley, died May 16, 2012 at Life Care Center of Greeley. He was born in Kansas, Oklahoma on March 20, 1928 to Frank and Vesta Howie. He served active and as a reservist in the United States Navy during WWII, from 1945 to 1957.
Bill married Florence Keenan on January 30, 1954 in Englewood, Colorado. They have resided in Greeley for 58 years.
He worked as a Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic for L.J. Hesser in Greeley, then for Sterling Company in Fort Collins. He loved fishing, gardening, mechanics, cars and his grandsons.
Bill is survived by his wife Florence, daughter Deanne M. Chee and husband Ken of Arvada and two grandsons Alan Chee and Benjamin Chee also of Arvada. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 21, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Stoddard Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 21 at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
