C. Benjamin ""Ben Chacon

C. Ben Chacon, 77 of Greeley, passed away at his home on September 13, 2016. Ben was born October 5, 1938 in Aquilar, CO, to Ben Chacon and Eloisa (Garcia) Rival. He married Elaine Hansen on February 5, 1960 in Greeley. She died October 25, 1998.

Ben has been a Greeley resident since 1965. He worked for D&D Bean Company from 1964-1973, Agfinity (Agland) 1973-1984, Weld County R&B Crew 1985-2000, at which time he retired from Weld County.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in La Salle, CO. He served in the USMC from 1956-1959. He enjoyed collecting Eagle memorabilia and playing Lottery scratch tickets.

Ben is survived by his sons, Richard Cheramy, Robert (Deb) Kirkman, Edward (Roz) Chacon; daughters, Virginia (Tom) Martinez and Debora (Jose) Chacon; sister Edna (Max) Contreraz; 10 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Elaine; daughter, Vicki; son-in-law, Chuck; brother Joe; daughter-in-law, Patti; and grandchildren, Ashley, Cierra and Erik.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at the Allnutt Macy Chapel. Services will follow starting at 1:00 P.M. at the Allnutt Macy Chapel. Interment at Linn Grove Cemetery.
