

Catherine Marie Ellsworth, 92, of Fort Collins, Colorado passed away peacefully on July 2, 2016. She lived a full life and was exceptionally compassionate, caring, and untiring raising her two sons; Steve (Sharon) of Fort Collins and Jim (Nancy) of Tampa, Florida. She is also survived by grandsons; Scott (Hayley) of Tampa and Brett plus great-grandsons, Blake and Ethan all of Dallas, Texas. In addition to her immediate family she had numerous nieces and nephews who remained close to her over the years.
Catherine was a “true Coloradoan”, born on August 29, 1923 in Timpas, the daughter of Conrad and Johanna Resel. She and her twin brother Leo were the third youngest of 10 children and is survived by her younger sister Lucille O’Brien of Morro Bay, California. Upon moving from Timpas, her family resided in Salida, where she graduated from high school in the Class of 1941. Following graduation she moved to La Junta, and eventually Denver, Craig, Canon City, and finally Fort Collins. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no funeral service. Her family will hold a small private gathering in La Junta, Colorado at a future date at which time her ashes will be placed at her loving parents’ gravesite. We will always remember Catherine’s fondest words at the end of every conversation… ”Make sure you tell everyone how much I love them”.
