Connie Eleanor Raisley, of Greeley, died peacefully at Grace Pointe on Saturday, January 20, 2018. Connie was born on October 30, 1923 in Casper, WY to Cecil and Clara Morris. She was the oldest of two children.
Connie graduated from Natrona High School in Casper and then Park Business School in Denver, CO in 1941. She met the love of her life, Clyde Raisley in January 1942 and nine months later she married her dashing young Sargent on October 3, 1942 at the chapel on Lowry Air Force Base.
She experienced many things in her 94 years including the Great Depression and traveling by train across the country with her infant son during WWII. She was a "Domestic Engineer" raising their four children and managing a loving home for their family. She was a teacher’s aide at Madison Elementary School, a member of the Red Hat Lady Society, and volunteered at the North Colorado Medical Center delivering mail and watering flowers. After Clyde retired in 1979, they spent many years traveling around the country and overseas making good friends and memories along the way. They were snowbirds in Mesa, AZ for over 20 years until they made their final stop at Grace Pointe on March 29, 2010. This is where Connie was known to be the Skip-Bo, blackjack, Kohl’s ad extraordinaire and she never missed a beauty shop appointment! Clyde and Connie made family their top priority always and created many traditions that are still followed today. She enjoyed crafting, fishing, camping, and hunting. One year, she managed to make breakfast for everyone in hunting camp, clean up, and shoot an elk all before the hunters returned for the day. She was a legend in many ways!
Connie was always smiling, laughing and would always lend an ear. She had a heart of gold and made an impression on anyone she met. She and Clyde were two peas in a pod and were married one month shy of 71 years before Clyde passed away in September of 2013. She will always be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
She is survived by her two sons, Jerry Raisley of Windsor, Tom (Dee) Raisley of Greeley, and daughter, Pam (Chris) Erbacher of Greeley; 29 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde; sister, Mickey Shafto; son, Dan Raisley; daughter-in-law, Debbie Raisley; granddaughter, Stacy Raisley; and great-granddaughter, Shania Fosher.
