Coy Suggs of Greeley, Colorado died on Friday, November 26, 2010 at Sunset Manor in Brush, Colorado. He was born on December 2, 1931 in Pound, Virginia to William Preston and Sara (Riner) Suggs.
Coy was reared and educated in Pound, Virginia. On May 18, 1953 he married Sadie Malone Gregg in Watauga, Tennessee. She died on June 1, 2001. He and his family, along with his twin brother, Roy, moved to the Baltimore, Maryland area in 1955.
In the summer of 1966, Coy and Sadie moved to Churchville, Maryland. In 1980, they moved to Greeley to be near his son and daughter-in-law. He worked with his son at Doug’s Hang Up, until he retired in 1998. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, beekeeping and softball in his younger years. He was an excellent woodworker. He and his wife treasured family time and their grandchildren’s activities.
Coy is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Doug and LaDonna Suggs of Greeley; 2 grandchildren, Brooke and Grant Suggs and his sisters, Aldine Whittaker and husband Albert of Alexandria, Virginia and Yvonne Bolling and husband Bill of Wise, Virginia. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife; his twin brother, Roy and 2 sisters, Ada Suggs and Lena Suggs.
Private family services will be held.
