

Curtis Eugene Olson, 49 of Greeley, passed away unexpectedly at his home November 4, 2015. Curtis was born October 3, 1966, in Boone, IA, to Gene and Janice Olson. On June 29, 2001, Curtis married Dana Romero. They were married at Trinity Episcopal Church in Greeley.
Curtis spent his early years in Iowa until his family moved to Greeley. He graduated from Greeley West High School in 1986 then attended Aims Community College. Curtis worked for Weld Schools District 6 for 28 years and was a “Jack of all trades.”
Curtis had many and varied hobbies and interests. He earned a black belt in martial arts, and was a talented artist who enjoyed drawing, pottery and model building. He was a wine connoisseur enjoying wine of all kinds, even making his own. He was an active member of the Colorado World War II Historical Society. An avid auto enthusiast, Curtis loved his restored 1955 Chevy Belair. In addition, he was a volunteer with the Forest Service and was actively involved at Trinity Episcopal Church. Curtis loved all holidays but especially Halloween. He adored his loving wife, Dana, for whom they shared fourteen years of marriage. A kind, gentle teddy bear of a man, Curtis will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Dana; his brother Bryan Olson (Renae); nephews Taylor, Caleb and Brooks Olson; sister-in-law Kirsten Romero-Hagler; niece Taylor Jay Hagler; and his in-laws Andrew and Nancy Romero, all of Greeley; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gene and Janice Olson.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 3800 West 20th Street in Greeley. A private burial will be held at a later date.
