David L. Griego

David Lee Griego, Sr., 51 of Greeley, passed away at his home on April 19, 2016. David was born July 6, 1964 in Alamosa, CO, to Leo Jr. and Janet (Hiatt) Griego. He married Coreen Duran 34 years ago on May 31, 1981 in Alamosa, CO.

David lived in Alamosa for 21 years before moving to Greeley. He attended Alamosa High School.

David came from a long line of brick masons, owning his own company for many years.

David was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, working on muscle cars, drag racing at Bandimere Speedway, music, dancing, playing darts, foosball, playing pool, and was an avid outdoorsman and Bronco fan. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and having BBQ’s with his family and friends. He was always working side jobs and was always willing to lend a hand to help others.

He is survived by his wife Coreen Duran; mother Janet Hiatt; son Matthew Griego; brother Cory (Merce) Griego; sister Shellie (Gerald) Griego Romero; grandchildren Matthew Griego Jr., Marcus Griego and Mariana Griego.

He was preceded in death by his father Leo Griego Jr., son David Lee Griego Jr.; brother Kelley Griego; grandparents Leo and Francis Griego; and Aunt Lorraine.

A visitation will be held from 5-7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at the Allnutt Macy Chapel with a Rosary to follow starting at 7:00 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 28, 2016 at St. Mary Catholic Church.
