David Lawrence Monson

Born on April 9, 1954, in Denver, Colorado, David was the beloved son of William “Bill” and Rosie Monson. During his early years, the family lived in Corpus Christi, Texas, while maintaining deep ties to their Colorado roots and farmland. Eventually, they returned to Colorado and made their home in Eaton, where David graduated from Eaton High School. He was active in FFA and carried a strong appreciation for agriculture throughout his life.

David spent most of his life working the land he loved, farming side by side with his father. He took great pride in his work and heritage, embracing the values of hard work, simplicity, and integrity.

A man of quiet strength and old-school charm, David found joy in the everyday moments; sipping coffee with friends, spending time with his family, and working on woodworking and refurbishing projects, skills passed down from his dad. In his free time, he enjoyed relaxing with a good TV show and reflecting on the land he cherished.

David was a devoted father and grandfather whose love and steady presence will be deeply missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Rosie Monson. He is survived by his children: Jared Monson; Heather (Matt) Rockelein; Nikki (Chris) Tollefson; and Megan (Aaron) Peterson. He also leaves behind his sister, Christine Loeber; and his cherished grandchildren: Will and Owen Tollefson, and Jaxon and Justin Peterson.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A celebration of life for David will be held Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Allnutt Funeral Service, Macy Chapel, 6521 W. 20th Street, Greeley, CO 80634.
