

David Louis Ovalle, 59, of Greeley, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2015 at North Colorado Medical Center. He was born on January 15, 1956 in Clewiston, Florida to John Manuel and Adela (Gonzalez) Ovalle.
David was raised in Weld County, attending schools in Milliken, Johnstown and Platteville. He worked as an Assembler for many years at Schaefer Enterprise in Greeley.
On February 14, 1997, he married Cathy A. Cranwell in Greeley. They were married for almost 19 years and were each other’s best friend.
David was baptized seven years ago at Grace Community Church in Johnstown, where he was a member of, but was unable to attend the last three years due to illness.
David volunteered with the Special Olympics in softball, bowling and other sporting events. His nickname was “Congo”. He enjoyed listening to Spanish County music, Country Western music. He loved to socialize and eat his wife’s cooking. His favorite past time was doing word searches. He was a very happy person, and was the greatest person family and friends will ever know.
David is survived by his wife, Cathy; two sisters, Gloria Solis, and Maria Ovalle; god-daughters Jazmin and Aralin Mireles and many nieces and nephews, which called him Uncle D.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Rosa and Juaneta, four brothers, Frank Gonzalez, John Ovalle, Guadalupe Ovalle and Jose Ramon Ovalle.
Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Grace Community Church, 2033 West South 1st Street, Johnstown.
