He was a 1953 graduate of Lebanon High School and attended Castle Heights Military Academy. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and married Mary Balderramos on April 12, 1958 in Rapid City, South Dakota. After a brief stay in South Carolina and Tennessee, the couple moved to Greeley. He was a loving father to six children. He worked as an Underwriting Supervisor for State Farm.
He loved spending quality time with his family first and foremost. He enjoyed the outdoors and frequently went camping and fishing. He also loved to garden and watch sports on television.
He is survived by his son, Victor Overstreet, daughters, Susanna (Ken) Harris and Lisa (Larry) Warriner, grandchildren, Chris, Amber, Corina and Mario, as well as seven great-grandchildren and a brother, Edward Overstreet.
David is preceded in death by his wife, Mary, who passed on August 31, 2011, a son, David Curtis Overstreet, daughters, Lena Rae Melendez and Katrina Ann Overstreet, daughter-in-law, Carolyn, Overstreet, parents, William and Nina, brothers, Carl Overstreet and Ernest Overstreet, and sisters, Ruth Armstead and Ruby Overstreet,
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Allnutt Funeral Service, Macy Chapel, 6521 W. 20th Street, Greeley, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Service at noon, also at Allnutt Macy Chapel, interment will take place at Linn Grove Cemetery. A reception will occur following the burial at Greeley Missionary Baptist Church, 3415 W 34th St Rd, Greeley, CO 80634.
