

Donald K. Dorn, 76, of Estes Park, CO passed away peacefully on September 6, 2014 at his home. Don was born on December 27, 1937 in Fort Morgan, CO to Harry and Claribel Dorn. His parents preceded him in death.
Don graduated from Fort Morgan High School in 1956 and shortly after enlisted in the Navy. After his tenure in the Navy, Don relocated to Ventura, California where he worked for a short-time on an oil rig off the coast of Santa Barbara. He later discovered his niche in the electrical field where he worked for Taft Electric and then moved on to start his own successful business, D.K. Electric. On October 18, 1974 Don married Sandy Biggie.
Don was very involved and well known in the Estes Park community. He owned and operated D.K. Electrical where he worked for several years. He loved the community, made friends quickly and was always anxious to help out those in the community.
Donald, or D.K. as he was commonly referred to, is survived by his wife, Sandy Dorn, daughters; June Howard, Leah Howard, and Julie (Jerry) Ellsworth all of Drake, CO, grandchildren; Mia (Marco) Castellucci of Santa Rafael, CA, Lemi Giudice of Los Angeles, CA, and Sande (Nathan) Golubich of Scottsbluff, NE.
All friends are invited to join the family in a Celebration of Don’s Life. It will be held Wednesday, September 17th, 2014 at the YMCA’s Ponder Chapel in Estes Park from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
