

Donald was reared and educated in Pampa, where he graduated from high school. He entered the US Army in 1958, serving in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1960. After his discharge, he returned to Texas and worked in the oil and gas industry.
Don married Angie Clay on August 1, 1954 in Pampa. They raised their family in and contributed to the communities of Pampa, TX; Williston, ND; Corpus Christi, TX; Liberal, KS; Aurora; Leadville; and finally Evans. Don was a Boy Scout Leader in Liberal. Don and his wife enjoyed living in Colorado and spending summers as campground hosts in the mountains.
After Angie’s death, Don found companionship and love with Evelyn Holderness, and they enjoyed several years together.
Donald is survived by his special friend, Evelyn Holderness of Evans; son, David (Brenda) Fry of Fort Collins; daughter-in-law, Melody Fry of Papillion, Nebraska and two granddaughters, Chelsea Fry and Tessa Fry both of Papillion.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 2008 and his son, Tony Fry in 2010.
A Celebration of Life will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Stoddard Funeral Home.
