

He was born on March 29, 1947, in Utah where he was also raised. He then found himself moving and living in Colorado. Donald attended Escalante High School and graduated in 1965. After graduating, he found the love of his life, Janette Buckner and they married on November 10, 1980, in Las Vegas, Nevada. They spent their lives together up until Janette’s passing in October of 2022.
Donald joined the United States Military and served the country during the Vietnam War, first being in the Army, then joining the Air Force. He later worked in the oil fields in Alaska. Donald also drove truck, sold truck parts, and worked for K. P. Kauffman as a Production Supervisor. Donald was also involved in Colorado Civil Air Patrol doing search and rescue. He loved to work but also enjoyed many other things in life. He liked to gamble, bowl, golf, watch college football, drink coffee, and go on road trips. Above all, Donald loved spending time with his family.
He will be missed greatly by all who he leaves behind. Donald is survived by his step-son, Terry Lee Dodge; daughter, Amanda Gibson; step-daughter, Robin Dodge-Baxley; brothers, Mike, Bob, Bill, Gary, and Brent Spencer; sister, Vicki Beck; and his grandchildren, Sadie Gibson, Tylan Gibson, Brittany Baxley, Lauren Dodge, Liam Dodge, and Mason Dodge.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Janette; his parents; and siblings Wayne Spencer and Gail Stock.
A celebration of life for Donald will be held Sunday, March 23, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Allnutt Funeral Service, Macy Chapel, 6521 W. 20th Street, Greeley, Colorado 80634.
