Dora Cuevas

Dora was raised on a farm in Durango alongside her eight brothers and sisters, where she learned the value of family, hard work, and faith. Those early years shaped the strong, loving woman her family and friends would come to know and cherish throughout her life.

In 1977, she married the love of her life, Alfredo Cuevas. Together they built a life centered on family and raised three children, creating a home filled with love. Dora enjoyed music, especially Spanish music, which often filled her home and brought joy to gatherings with family. She also enjoyed horses and had a special fondness for eagles and elephants. Dora loved spending time at the casino and was known for her vibrant spirit and warm personality.

Dora’s faith guided her life and the way she cared for those around her. Above all else, her grandchildren were the center of her world. She treasured every moment with them and took great pride in watching her family grow.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus Garcia and Maria de la Luz Hernandez, and four of her siblings.

Dora is survived by her devoted husband, Alfredo Cuevas; her children, Fredy Cuevas (Teresa), Alondra Marzana, and Ambar Bustamante; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, with one more on the way; and four siblings who will all continue to carry her memory in their hearts.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 23, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Stoddard Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Linn Grove Cemetery.

Dora will be remembered for her loving heart, her deep devotion to family, and the joy she brought to those around her. Her memory will live on through the many lives she touched.

Dora Cuevas, de 71 años, falleció en paz el 11 de marzo de 2026 en Greeley, Colorado. Nació el 22 de enero de 1955 en Durango, México, hija de Jesús García y María de la Luz Hernández.

Dora creció en un rancho en Durango junto a sus ocho hermanos y hermanas, donde aprendió el valor de la familia, el trabajo duro y la fe. Esos primeros años formaron a la mujer fuerte y amorosa que su familia y amigos llegaron a conocer y querer a lo largo de su vida.

En 1977 se casó con el amor de su vida, Alfredo Cuevas. Juntos construyeron una vida centrada en la familia y criaron a tres hijos, creando un hogar lleno de amor, risas y música. Dora tenía un gran amor por la música, especialmente la música en español, que muchas veces llenaba su hogar y alegraba las reuniones familiares. También le gustaban los caballos y tenía un cariño especial por las águilas y los elefantes. A Dora le gustaba ir al casino y era conocida por su espíritu alegre y su cálida personalidad.

Era una mujer muy espiritual, y su fe guió su vida y la manera en que cuidaba de quienes la rodeaban. Sobre todo, sus nietos eran lo más importante para ella. Atesoraba cada momento con ellos y se sentía muy orgullosa de ver crecer a su familia.

Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres, Jesús García y María de la Luz Hernández, y cuatro de sus hermanos.

Dora deja para honrar su memoria a su amado esposo, Alfredo Cuevas; sus hijos, Fredy Cuevas (Teresa), Alondra Marzana y Ambar Bustamante; 10 nietos; cinco bisnietos y uno más en camino; así como cuatro hermanos.

El velorio se llevará a cabo el lunes 23 de marzo de 2026 de 5:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m. en Stoddard Funeral Home. La Misa de Funeral se celebrará el martes 24 de marzo de 2026 a las 11:00 a.m. en Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. El entierro se realizará en el cementerio Linn Grove.

Dora será recordada por su corazón amoroso, su profunda dedicación a su familia y la alegría que brindó a todos los que la conocieron. Su memoria vivirá para siempre en las muchas vidas que tocó.
