

Esther (Wagner) Noerenberg, 95, of Greeley, Colorado, passed away on April 14, 2025. She was born on February 16, 1930, to David and Molly (Naeb) Sigwardt of Keenesburg, Colorado. She was the youngest of eight children born to first-generation German immigrant farmers from the Volga region in Russia.
After high school, Esther enjoyed a variety of work experiences, including waitressing at the Pepper Pod in Hudson, Colorado, and working in secretarial positions.
She married her first love, Eddie Zgut, and moved to Walsenburg, Colorado. After Eddie’s tragic death, Esther eventually relocated to California. It was there that she met and married John Noerenberg. Together, they owned and operated a landscaping business. After retiring, they returned to Greeley, Colorado, where they continued to enjoy gardening and landscaping.
Esther loved being outdoors and working in her yard. In addition to gardening, she enjoyed music, playing the piano, organ, and racquetball. She loved life.
After moving to assisted living at Garden Square at Westlake she played bingo, card games, and enjoyed socializing with fellow residents.
She is survived by her sister, Virginia Lyon of Needles, California; stepsons, Charles Noerenberg (Kristina) of Golden Valley, Minnesota and Henry Noerenberg (Kate) of Sudbury, Massachusetts; stepdaughter, Nancy Kothman (Bill) of Savage, Minnesota; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Noerenberg; her four brothers—LeRoy Sigwardt of Greeley, Colorado, Reuben Sigwardt of Brighton, Colorado, Melvin Sigwardt of Mesa, Arizona, and Albert Sigwardt of Brighton, Colorado; and two sisters—Amelia Stapp of Longmont, Colorado, and Lydia Henkel of Greeley, Colorado.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Allnutt-Macy Chapel.
