

Floyd Edward Ortiz, 69 of Evans, passed away at his home on February 4, 2015. The oldest of six children, Floyd was born June 19, 1945 in Las Vegas, New Mexico to Floyd Elias and Lila (Mondragon) Ortiz. He was raised in Raton, New Mexico.
Floyd served in the United States Army during Vietnam.
Floyd married his very best friend to the end, Julia Casares on December 30, 1988 in Greeley. He worked for Meyer Hatchery, retired from Kodak, and also worked for District 6 as a Bus Driver.
Floyd loved life and enjoyed being outdoors. He also enjoyed painting, boats and was a great handy man. He had an amazing since of humor and was very straight forward. His dogs Blanca and Skeeter were just like children to him.
Floyd is survived by his wife Julia; sisters Esther (Wayne) Thompson and Christine (Charles) Lawson; brother Ray (Bernadette) Ortiz; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Henry Ortiz and one sister Bertha Moreno.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Thursday, February 12, 2015 followed by funeral service at 12:00 p.m. both at Stoddard Funeral Home. Inurnment 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
