Gary Wallace Grabin of Greeley died Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at North Colorado Medical Center. He was born March 17, 1940 to Rexford Lincoln and Ruth Evelyn (Winchester) Grabin in Wessington Springs, South Dakota.
He grew up on his family’s farm, south of Miller, South Dakota. He graduated from high school in Wessington Springs, South Dakota and from college in Long Beach, California. He married Elaine Janet (Smith) Barbour on November 19, 1988, at the home of Delores and Robert Fuller, in Denver.
Gary was a member of Journey Christian Church of Greeley, and a member of NRA for many years. He and his wife enjoyed spending time in their RV. They also enjoyed square dancing for many years. They moved to Greeley in May 2009.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine of Greeley; daughter, Tami Jo Christensen (Mark) of Highlands Ranch; son, Mark Alan Grabin (Tamatha) of Buffalo, Wyoming; mother, Ruth Grabin of Woonsocket, South Dakota; 2 sisters, Vicki Evans (Alex) of Stafford, Texas and Arlette Peskey of Houston, Texas; 2 brothers, Gene Grabin (Carol) of Gann Valley, South Dakota and Lyle Grabin (Gayle) of Monroe City, Missouri; 2 grandchildren, Isabella Grabin and Gabriella Grabin both of Buffalo, Wyoming. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Gene on May 22, 1990; his father, Rexford and a brother, Ronnie Grabin.
Visitation 5-7 p.m. Friday at Stoddard Funeral Home. Celebration of Life 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Journey Christian Church, 2332 W. 27th St. Interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
