Geraldine Gerry"" Calhoun

Geraldine ”Gerry” Calhoun, 85, passed away November 22, 2017 in Fort Collins, CO. She was born on April 25, 1932 in Columbus, GA to Tasker and Leevettie (Evans) Smith. She married the love of her life, Warren W. Calhoun, on April 14, 1951 in Fort Benning, GA and they had two children.

Gerry belonged to several fraternal groups including the North Platte Assembly #177 Social Order of the Beauceant. She was also a 50 year member of Signet Chapter #55 Order of the Eastern Star.

Two of Gerry’s most rewarding accomplishments were dedicating her life to supporting her husband in his military career and raising their two children. She also spent many hours doing volunteer work in several of the towns they lived in. Among her favorite groups to work with were the Girl Scouts and the Pink Ladies Auxiliary.

Gerry is survived by: her daughter, Linda Lamb (John); son, William “Bill” Calhoun; sister, Margaret Ford; grandchildren, Jacquelyn Lamb (Nick), John C. Lamb (Emily), Kaitlin Calhoun, Tyler Calhoun; and great grandson, Harley Bright.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Warren W. Calhoun; brother, Thurmond Smith; and her parents.

Interment and Graveside Service will be held 10:00am Friday, December 8, 2017 at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, NE.
