

Born December 26, 1943, in Longmont, CO., she was the daughter of the late Lloyd Dickens and Faye (Ferguson) Dunn. Gladys was preceded in death by her two siblings, Carl Dickens and Helen (Dickens) Ferguson. Gladys was the youngest of the Dickens children to reside in the historic Dickens home located in Longmont, CO.
Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Bufford (Bud) Leslie Burgess and his son Allen Burgess and daughters Beulah (Burgess) Davilla and Myrna (Burgess) DeYoung, it was written in the family bible that she became the only mother that Bud’s three children knew. She is survived by her granddaughter, Nicole (DeYoung) Goldsmith (Casey) and great granddaughter, Ava; her brother-in-law, Larry Ferguson of Gypsum, CO; nephew and nieces, Everett Ferguson (NewNew) of Kalispell, MT, Annette (Ferguson) Vesser (Michael), Rayville, MO and Elizabeth (Ferguson) O’Hara of Hazelgreen, AL and their children.
Gladys attended school in Berthoud, CO but lived most of her adult life in Loveland, CO. Gladys held various jobs including the old Great Western Sugar Beet Plant, the Lego Factory which later changed to Samsonite, Wex Assisted Living and at Sylvandale Ranch. Her gentle witty personality made visits memorable; Gladys loved horses, enjoyed cross stitching, and setting on her front porch watching the sunset while visiting with family and friends. She will be missed.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at 2 pm., at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Greeley, CO.
