

Goldie M. Erickson, 89, of Loveland, passed away November 27, 2017 at McKee Medical Center. She was born December 25, 1927 in Britt, Iowa the daughter of Herman and Mary Markworth. She grew up on a farm where she contributed to the success of the family farm by performing many chores. She attended a country school and then the High School in Britt. Later her family moved to Clear Lake, Iowa. She graduated from the Clear Lake High School in 1945. Following high school graduation, she attended and graduated from a communications school. She then worked for the telephone company.
In 1946, she met Roger Erickson. They were married in 1947. She continued to work for the telephone company and helped Roger build a house in which they lived while Roger attended St. Olaf College. She worked as a receptionist while Roger attended graduate school at the University of Illinois.
Following the births of her sons, Mark and David, Goldie devoted her life as a wife and mother, homemaker and in service of others. She was a Swedish Hospital volunteer in the recovery room for many years in Englewood, Colorado. As a cancer survivor, she was a volunteer for Cancermount and Reach for Recovery. A lifelong member of the Lutheran Church, Goldie served as a Sunday School teacher and was active in many church committees and organizations.
During Roger’s employment at Honeywell and retirement, Goldie and Roger lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota; Littleton, Colorado; Denver, Colorado; Estes Park, Colorado; Mesa, Arizona and Loveland, Colorado.
Goldie and Roger enjoyed family camping and other activities with their sons, golfing, skiing, hiking, traveling and spending winter months in Arizona.
Goldie is survived by her husband, Roger; sons Mark and David Erickson; daughter-in-law Charlene; one sister Ida Hanna; brother-in-law Don Hanna and sister-in-law Betty Lou Erickson.

Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 1, 2017 at Good Samaritan Chapel Loveland Village. The family invites everyone to wear bright colors in Goldie’s Memory. Inurnment in Good Samaritan Columbarium. Friends and family can sign the online register book at www.allnutt.com
