Greg started his career in the construction field in Akron, Ohio after serving four years in the Army where he was a half track operator. In 1965, he moved his family to Boulder Colorado where he and his wife, Marilyn started Backhoe Excavating Incorporated. They owned and operated that business for forty five years.
In 1980, they moved to Loveland Colorado, continued operating their business, and enjoyed entertaining their friends and family on Lake Loveland.
Greg was passionate about family, sports and animals. He loved supporting high school athletics whether it be his kids in Boulder, Loveland or their friends in either school.
The Klein household was always open for fun and food to anyone who popped in for a laugh, or just to see the latest generation of ducks to be released later in the spring. Family was always first to Greg. There was never a special occasion missed. All were included & celebrated with the same passion for family, friends and hospitality.
Greg passed away on Friday November 25, 2016. Although Greg’s health issues were significant, he fought all of them to the end with his sense of humor and his never quit attitude. That spirit will be remembered and missed by many. He is survived by 5 children, 10 Grand Children and 7 Great Grand Children.
We are grateful for all the contributions made to Greg’s life from the people who knew him.
His life will be celebrated on December 3, 2016 in Loveland with a private family gathering. He will be laid to rest along side of his wife Marilyn at the Loveland Burial Park. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Loveland High School Athletic program in Greg’s honor would be appreciated. Please send all cards and donations to P.O. Box 1804, Loveland, Colorado 80539.
