Harriet Jane Harris

Harriet Jane Harris was born July 7, 1956 in McCook, NE to Margaret and Reinhart “Shorty” Walter. She entered Heaven’s gates on May 10, 2016 at the young age of 59. Known as Jane by many, she grew up in small town Nebraska, graduating from Cambridge High School in 1974. She attended McCook Community College, studying Philosophy. Jane married Dudley “Sonny” Jackson and they had two children. After their divorce, serendipity led to an encounter with an old high school friend while visiting Colorado. They began corresponding, fell in love, and on May 22, 1992, she married the love of her life, Andy Harris. Their marriage united a strong family bond between Andy’s two children from a previous marriage and Jane’s two children. Jane was an avid gardener, loved to travel (especially to Maine), collected anything with a lighthouse on it, liked to read, loved the ocean, and liked to ski. She was a member of Canyon Ridge Church. A loving mother and grandmother, she delighted in spending time with her five grandchildren. Her friends and family will remember her as one of the most positive and supportive people that they ever had the privilege to know. She is survived by her husband Andy Lynn Harris; children Luke Michael Jackson, Jill Christa Jackson, Calista Jane Schuetz, and Josh Lynn Harris; five grandchildren; brother Roland Walter, nieces Cindy Koenig and Heidi Menendez; and nephews Ryan Walter, Charlie Walter, Steve Walter, Marcus Kloepping and Kirk Kloepping. She was preceded in death by her brother Rod Walter and her parents. A memorial service will be held at Allnutt Funeral Home in Fort Collins, CO on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 1:00 pm.
