

Hilda Gimbel, 95, passed away August 19, 2016 in Arvada, Colorado. A visitation will be held at the Allnutt Drake Chapel, Fort Collins, CO. on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 from 9:00 – 10:00 AM, followed by the Funeral Service at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow the service at 11:30 AM at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Ft. Collins, Colorado. Hilda was born July 25, 1921 in Virgil, S.D. to Wilhelm and Paulina (Heckenlaible) Buechler. She lived with John and Lentina Renner on a farm near Ree Heights, South Dakota after the passing of her parents. She married Samuel Gimbel on September 1, 1946. To this union, 5 children were born. They farmed near Ree Heights for 8 years, and later farmed south of Miller, S.D. for 17 years. They moved to Ft. Collins, CO, and worked at Poudre Valley Hospital, retired, and moved into Arvada, CO. in 2006 to be nearer to their children. Hilda was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Ft. Collins and later became a member of Mountain View Lutheran Church in Thornton, CO. Hilda is survived by son, DeWayne (Bonnie) Gimbel of Northglenn, Colorado; daughters Delores “Dee” (Charles Storm of Mitchell, South Dakota; Eddi (John) Oyler of Rapid City, South Dakota; and Beverly (Steve) Herhager of Arvada, Colorado; daughter-in-law, Pat Gimbel of Sparland, Illinois; sister Marlene Rittel of Yankton, South Dakota; brother William Scheibe of Huron, South Dakota; sister Virginia Jenner of Mr. Vernon, Ohio; and Lenora Ireland of Santee, California; 2 “adopted” siblings-Wilbert (Eleanor) Renner and Eileen Russel; eleven grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Samuel, her son Gerald Gimbel, infant son Paul Gimbel, brother and sister-in-law (Oscar and Nora), sister and brother-in-law (Ed and Martha Schilling), brother-in-law (Orvin Rittel), sister-in-law (Doris Scheibe), brother-in-law (Walter Jenner), brother-in-law (Ira Ireland) and “adopted” brother-in-law (Herb Russel). In lieu of flowers, the family requests you take an elderly person out to lunch in Hilda’s honor.
