Inge Vibeka Leach

“Beka” was born to Valdemar and Esther (Olsen) Mark on June 24, 1946 in Denmark. On April 22, 1948 the Mark family immigrated to Roggen Colorado where Esther raised Beka and her older sister, Kristine, with uncle Carl Nielsen on the farm. Beka was a 10 year 4-H member, she showed Shorthorn and Angus cattle, along with Ayrshire dairy cows. She graduated from Weld Central High School in 1964. In addition, in 1964 she toured Scotland, Wales, Ireland and England with the American Hereford Association.

Beka married Jerry Leon Ford on July 1, 1965 in Greeley, Colorado. They lived on a farm southwest of Fort Lupton where they raised their two children; daughter Laura and son J.D. She worked for various small business in the area while her children grew up. She also worked at Walmart for 18 years. Furthermore, she volunteered as a superintendent at the Adams County Fair and Rodeo for small animals and pocket pets for several years. Later they divorced and she married Bobby Leach on January 24, 1995.

Beka and Bob loved to travel and their many cats. They went on seven cruises which took them to Australia, Europe, Alaska and Hawaii to name a few. They traveled extensively across the United States, their last trip took them to Nova Scotia, Canada and New York City.

After a very courageous fight with cancer Beka was called home to be with the Lord on March 3, 2024. She passed away with sisters Kristine and Liz by her side, at Kristine’s home. She will be laid to rest next to Uncle Carl at Linn Grove Cemetery on March 11, 2024.

Beka is survived by her children, Laura (Jimmy) Williams and J.D. Ford, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Her sisters Kristine Burbach and Liz (Ray) Walters along with numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, mother and husband Bobby. In the lieu of flowers make a donation to a charity of your choice in memory of Beka Leach.

A funeral service for Inge will be held Monday, March 11, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Allnutt Funeral & Cremation - Macy, 6521 W. 20th Street, Greeley, Colorado 80634. Following the funeral service will be a burial at 12:00 PM at Linn Grove Cemetery, 1700 Cedar Avenue, Greeley, CO 80631. A reception will be held at the Armadillo restaurant after the burial.
