

Ismael Rodriguez, Sr., 85, of Greeley, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015 at North Colorado Medical Center. Ismael was born on January 25, 1930 in Marlin, Texas to Jose Rodriguez and Simona Saldoña.
Ismael lived in Texas in his early years and then moved to Colorado. He worked as a master carpenter; then retired from the as a lineman after 40 plus years of service.
Ismael married Minerva Reyes Rodriguez in 1950 in Loveland, Colorado at St. John’s Catholic Church. They were married for 62 years.
Ismael served in the US Army from 1950-1954 in the Korean War.
Ismael and Minerva were members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Ismael was also a life member of VFW Post 2121 in Greeley, the Moose Lodge in Loveland and the Knights of Columbus in Greeley.
No matter what, Ismael would help anyone in need. He had a great sense of humor and could make everyone laugh. Ismael was the “main man” and when he spoke, people listened. He was always giving words of encouragement and made people feel their worth.
Ismael is survived by his daughters, Mary Ann Cosper (Brian), JoAnn Mendoza and Martha Rodriguez; sons, Ismael Rodriguez, Jr. (Peggy) and Luis A. Rodriguez; siblings, Juan Rodriguez, Ruben Rodriguez, Bernado Rodriguez, Mingo Rodriguez, Rudy Rodriguez, John Rodriguez and Susie Rodriguez; grandchildren, Michael Rodriguez, Kelly Redmond, Desiree Rodriguez, Shylo Personius , Jessica Brown, Chanelle Cosper, Brian Cosper II, Anthony Crespin, Avery Crespin, Emily Miret, Alejandra Stewart, Marisha Hershberger, Ismael Rodriguez, Simona Wetkerson, Samuel Rodriguez, Tristin Rodriguez, Christiana Jones, Joshua Hurtado, Gracie Aguilar and Melissa Aguilar and 31 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother, Pedro.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 30, 2015 with Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. both at Stoddard Funeral Home. A Christian service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 1, 2015 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
