Jackson “Jack” Leroy Sharp, born January 15, 1940, in Moravia, Iowa, passed away on December 6, 2025, at the age of 85. Jack lived a life marked by devotion to family, service to his country, and an unwavering work ethic that guided him through every stage of his journey.
Jack graduated from Eaton High School and went on to serve in the United States Army from 1959 to 1962. After returning home, he met his bride, Lois (Brown), whom he married in 1963. He worked many jobs in his early years but devoted much of his life to working in the construction industry before becoming a mail carrier where he retired in 2001.
A devoted husband and father, Jack always put his family first. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Lois, and his children: Becky (Scott) Baker, Debbie (Ian) McCorkle, and Loren (Heather) Sharp. Jack took great pride in his grandchildren—Hayley (Zach) and Kate Pherson and Sterling (Addi) and Alexis Sharp, along with his great grandchildren Kaden, Teegan, Aubrey, Kinsley, Grace, and Declan, each of whom brought him immense joy. He is also survived by his mother, Faye Sharp, and his sister, Elaine Forsythe.
Jack loved fishing, hunting, and woodworking, and he shared his craftsmanship, stories, and patient guidance with those around him. His quiet strength, warm heart, and steady presence will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his father, Glen “Willie”, and his brother Gary.
A service to honor Jack’s life will be held at Immanuel Evangelical Church, 318 W. 7th Avenue in Fort Morgan, on December 19, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
