Jesse Melendez

Jesse was born in Greeley to Lorenzo Melendez and Eufemia (Hernandez) Melendez on July 4, 1957.

On April 30, 1988 in Las Vegas, Nevada, Jesse married the love of his life Sandi (Upton) Melendez. They lived in Greeley. Jesse worked for Kodak of 32 years. After Kodak, he had many jobs but his last job found him peace when he worked for Sunset Memorial Gardens. Jesse loved gambling, barbecues, and sports, especially the Chicago Bears. He loved coaching his sons in baseball, soccer, and wrestling. He could not wait for his grandkids to be old enough. He was known by family and friends to be the life of the party with his smile, laughter, and jokes.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years; three sons, Zack (Naomi), Andrew (Justina) and Chuy (Jazmyn); ten grandkids, Nadia, Bryant, Sarita, Nayeli, Aaleyah, Andrew, Lilyanna, Zayne, Zavier and Aubrianna; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tom and Donna Upton; three sisters, Mary Cardona, Elia Barber (JD) and Laura Gilmore (Jimmy); sister-in-law, Robyn Upton; six brothers, Victor (Diana), Ernie (Kathy), Mario (Kristie), Fide, Ray and Isidro Almaguer; brothers-in-law, Bob Upton and David Upton and his large and loving extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Grace Community Church, 2033 W. South 1st Street, Johnstown, Colorado.
