John J. Gonzales, Jr., 82 of Greeley, passed away December 20, 2018 at McKee Medical Center in Loveland. John was born August 12, 1936 in Greeley to Jon M. and Sally (Maestas) Gonzales. He and his wife Roberta had been married for 28 years before she passed in 2006.
John attended Johnson Jr. High School. He worked as a security guard for Kodak and for NCMC until he retired.
John was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He was a good brother, loved to tell many stories about his life, current events and what to do and what not to do. He enjoyed watching the news, travelling to New Mexico to spend time with his sister Vena, loved his job (making sure everything was “OK”). He liked to stay busy and didn’t spend a lot of time at home but when he was home he enjoyed gardening.
John is survived by his brother David Gonzales, and sister Viola Solis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Ray and Pete Gonzales; and sister Vena Fernandez.
Rosary at 11:00 A.M. January 4, 2019 with Mass of Christian burial starting at 11:30 A.M. January 4, 2019 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
