John Beecher Stein Jr.

John Beecher Stein departed his family and loved ones on Sunday, October 14th 2012 at North Colorado Hospice Center in Greeley. John was born in Stockton, California. He was preceded in death by his parents John Beecher Stein Sr. and Dorothy Ellen (Kron) Stein and brother, Chris Stein, of Greeley. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Dawn Rae (Hansen) Stein who shared and cherished life with him for 38 years.

John is also survived by his son Heath and wife Michelle Stein and three grand-daughters, Makayla, Madison and Megan Stein of Lakewood. He is survived by his brother, Gerry and wife Kay Stein of Greeley and their daughters, Heather Lilly and Jennifer Stein, cousin Bill Drumb of Louisville, KY, and nephew Raymond Stein of Denver. John also leaves four very special “children” Peter, Shawna & April Van Wyhe of Eaton and Jackie Martindale of Peoria, AZ who shared many years of happiness and love for him.

John was a graduate of Greeley West High School in 1968 and attended and graduated from the University of Northern Colorado and Aims Community College.

John owned and managed The New Dawn Coffee Service with his wife in the Greeley area since 1983. He always enjoyed his work and the people he served throughout the years.

John was an avid snow skier in the mountains around Arapahoe Basin, a passionate fisherman, and was a past Colorado State champion in wrestling.

A memorial service will be held for John B. Stein at the Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 W. 28th Street, Greeley on Friday October 19th at 11:00 AM.
