

John Wesley Venn, 65, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Hospice of Northern Colorado inpatient unit after a long battle with cancer. John was born on July 27, 1949 in Denver, Colorado to Max Cleve and Lois Jean (Weatherred) Venn.
John served in the United States Army in Vietnam from August 1967 to August 1977. He retired from Kodak of Colorado on December 31, 2010.
John is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Venn; his beloved cat, Smokey; mother, Lois Venn, sisters, Jayne Gunter (husband, Ken) and Kayce Venn; mother-in-law, Freida Meyer; two brothers-in-law, Tommy Meyer (wife, Nicole) and Kelvin Meyer (Karen Hett); three nieces; two nephews; three great-nieces; one great-nephew and numerous relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Max Venn and father-in-law, Leo Meyer.
John was an avid gold panner, liked to shoot targets and took pride in his yard and building his big beautiful flower box!
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Interment Linn Grove Cemetery.
