Joseph Isobel Gutierrez, 86, of Greeley, entered into eternal rest Friday, September 20, 2013 at North Colorado Medical Center. He was born on November 19, 1926 in Pueblo to Emiliano and Guadalupe (Hernandez) Gutierrez.
On January 2, 1953, Joe married Mary Ayala in Pueblo. They moved to Greeley in 1960 and Joe began his career as a butcher with Monfort Feedlots. Joe retired from Monfort in the mid 1980’s.
Joe was a very loving, caring and family oriented man. Joe’s greatest passion was his family. He enjoyed time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and remained involved in their activities. Joe had a very special relationship with his granddaughter, Lauren Hernandez. Joe spent time working on his automobiles. In his younger years he enjoyed traveling and camping with his wife and children.
He is survived by his children, Tony Baros (Joyce) of Pueblo, Pat Gutierrez (Jack Garcia) and Chuck Gutierrez all of Greeley; ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Tom Gutierrez, one brother and three sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial 11:30 Friday, September 27, 2013 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greeley. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
