Joyce Elaine Huber, 84, passed away Friday, April 29, 2016 in Tampa, Florida. Joyce was born on a farm in Kirkman, Iowa on August 15, 1931 to Elmer and Pauline (Stolz) Swenson. She was the first of six children. As the first born, she grew up working the farm with her father, and also helped her mother with all of the household responsibilities. Joyce met, fell in love with, and married John Huber, Jr. on October 3, 1949. Joyce had 6 children, over the next 15 years.
In January 1970, they relocated their family to Loveland, CO, where they fell in love with the mountains and people they met. Joyce worked at Berthoud Elementary School as a teacher’s aide for over 12 years, where she made life-long friends. After her beloved husband passed in 1985, Joyce followed her daughters to Florida in 1988. Joyce was a devout Christian and loved studying the bible and teaching others. She successfully researched family genealogy back to Germany in 1690. Joyce wrote a cook book filled with family recipes. She was a wonderful cook and baked amazing Christmas treats for her family, friends and neighbors every year.
Joyce’s greatest love was for her family. She left behind her 5 children, Rob, Rick (deceased), Pam, Mike, Debbie & Patti, her 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, a sister, Jolene and a brother, Gary. She has left a beautiful imprint on all of the lives she touched over her 84 years. We all love her and will truly miss her.
