Katharine Jane Irwin

Katharine Jane (Wenner) Irwin, 98, of Loveland passed away on October 28, 2014. Katharine was born on December 28, 1915 in Lake City, Iowa and was adopted at age 6 by John Peter and Mary (Millen) Wenner. She had 2 sisters, Marie and Elizabeth. Katharine grew up, went to school and junior college in Clarinda, IA. She graduated from Monmouth College in Illinois with a degree in Biology, Bachelors of Arts. Katharine married Rev. Harold C. Irwin of Moline, ILL on September 12, 1939.

Katharine was a homemaker and belonged to many organizations including; the Garden Club Federated in Loveland, the “Dames of the Round Table” in North Dakota, and Cache La Poudre Doll Club of Fort Collins. She was a member of United Presbyterian and Boulder Presbyterian Church. The Irwin’s moved to Windsor, CO in 1976 to retire to be with their children and grandchildren.

Katharine is survived by her daughters; Sharen K. (Howard) Bader and Patty Hoffman, both of Colorado; 9 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 1 son James and 1 daughter Janey.

A viewing will be held from 4pm to 8pm on Monday, November 3, 2014. Funeral Services will be at 10am on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Allnutt Funeral Service. Interment at Loveland Burial Park.
