Kendell was born in Greeley on February 10th, 1971, to Robert and Sharon Grauberger, and lived his entire life in the Greeley area, a truck driver his entire adult life and the owner of Kendell Grauberger Trucking in LaSalle since 2006 until the time of his death.
Kendell was generous to a fault, and loved his family deeply and sacrificially. They were truly his world, but he also enjoyed a rather large network of friends for whom he would give the shirt off his back. A man of quick wit and a sharp tongue, you always knew where you stood with Kendell, but that’s what endeared him to many, even if his words in the moment weren’t always appreciated. He is already being missed profoundly by his family, and his friends are having a difficult time imagining hanging out without him. Kendell was also an avid golfer and loved smoking meats on his Traeger. No one made a better pulled pork than Kendell.
Kendell is survived by his ex-wife Sheleste Grauberger, sons Michael “Cass” Grauberger (Chelsea) and Kyle Grauberger, daughters Kendra McCracken (Spencer) and Courtney Batterton (Ian), parents Robert and Sharon Grauberger, brothers Cori Grauberger (Ashley) and Stuart Grauberger (Stacey), and sister Cheryl Zahnister, and eight grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life for Kendell will be held on Sunday, September 18, at 11:00am at the Platte River Fort, 2999 US-34 in Greeley, followed by a luncheon reception. Prior to the service at 10:00am, Kendell’s remains will be brought for viewing at the Platte River Fort until the time of the service on the back of his original semi-truck.
