Larry H. Nicks

He married Cynthia J. Groves on July 2, 1967 in Greeley. They later divorced.

Larry lived in Greeley his whole life. He attended and was the first graduating class from Greeley West in 1966. As a senior, he earned the title of Northern Conference Champion in cross country. Larry served in the United States Navy from 4/7/1967 – 1/6/1971. He was stationed at Nas Oceana, Virginia Beach, VA as a flight mechanic. He earned the National Defense service medal and was honorably discharged.

He worked for Greeley Gas Company, the State Highway Dept and retired from the United States Postal Service after 21 years of service in 2001.

Larry was a life member of the VFW Post 6624. Camping, fishing, hunting, gun collecting, bowling, playing cribbage, tying flies and leather work were some of his passions. Larry loved to gamble and had many great trips to Las Vegas with friends and family. Larry loved Nascar Racing and was a sporting enthusiast.

Larry is survived by his only daughter, Tracy G. Sewald (Philip); granddaughter,Kelsi D. Reinke; and grandson, Garret J. Reinke.

Larry was an only child and was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

A celebration of Larry’s life will be held at a later date.
