

LaVerne Rose Dressor, 91, passed away on January, 7 2023. Born on June 14th, 1931 (second born twin) in Denver to Carl St. John and Rose Bertelsman. LaVerne graduated from Fort Morgan High School in 1949. On December 19, 1951 in Minneapolis, Minnesota LaVerne married William Oscar Dressor. They were married 39 years before William “Bill” passed on February 18, 1990.
LaVerne was an active participant at the First United Methodist Church in Greeley. In High School she was active in the school band as well as had her own Jazz band. LaVerne loved music and sports her entire life; she played softball locally in Ft. Morgan in her early 20’s. She later picked it back up in her 50’s and played every year up until she was 85! She was a member of the Colorado Peaches women’s softball team competing in several Senior Olympics games representing Greeley and the State of Colorado. In 2013 LaVerne was honored with an induction to the Senior Softball Hall of Fame by the Greeley Senior Activity Center. LaVerne was a die-hard Colorado Rockies and Nuggets fan. She often joked that Nolan Arenado was her “Adopted Son”. LaVerne loved Tap Dancing in her 60’s, 70’s and 80’s with “Syncopation Station”. She also participated a couple of times in Track and Field in the Senior Games. LaVerne played Tennis, Pickleball, Bowled and much more. LaVerne loved playing the bells in the church group called The Allelujah Ringers. LaVerne was a devoted friend to everyone, keeping her special friends cared for. She made sure everyone was taken care of, despite their challenges. LaVerne loved life and did so many things to make sure that every moment was full of joyous memories; she will be missed by all the lives she touched.
LaVerne Rose Dressor is survived by her son Steve (Penny) Dressor, daughter Cynthia “Cindy” Dressor, son Alan (Dana) Dressor, and brother Bill (Dee) St. John, twin sister LaVaughn Holloway, and grandchildren, Cristin (Jon) Green, Kelsey (Brett) Hemenover, Torey Dressor, William “Wil” Dressor (Cheyenne Willkes), Peyton Dressor, Sydney Dressor, and great-grandchildren, Owen Green, Avenn Green, Karsyn Hemenover, Harper Hemenover.
LaVerne Rose Dressor was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Dressor and her parents, Carl and Rose St. John.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Friends of Baseball, 421 N 15th Ave, Greeley, CO 80631-2049 in LaVerne Dressor’s honor.
