Leon Waldron Grube

Leon Waldron Grube, 85, of Greeley, Colorado, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, surrounded by family. He was born on February 4, 1940, in Evansport, Ohio to Leonard and Venus (Waldron) Grube. He moved his family to Greeley, Colorado in 1966, returned to Ohio in 1971 and then permanently settled in Greeley in 1972.

Leon was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He started his career as a meat cutter for Eckert's Packing House in Archbold, Ohio. After relocating back to Greeley, he continued his career as a meat cutter for Safeway and retired as a meat merchandiser after 27 years. He was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church.

He and his wife enjoyed traveling, camping with the Mobile Squares Camping Group and square dancing. He also enjoyed fishing, and ice fishing, golfing, mornings with the coffee group and attending his grandchildren's various activities.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Brenda, his children, Leon Mitchell (Robin) Grube, Chad (Valerie) Grube and Jody (David) Haywood, grandchildren, Elizabeth (Kenny) O'Neal, Joshua (Erika) Grube, Rebekah (Jose) Amador-Montes, Harrison Grube, Carter Grube, Averie Grube and Nicholas Grube, great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Rel, Layla Peralta, Lillian, Brooklyn, Jaiden and Jackson Grube, Alex and Samuel Amador-Montes, Jeremy Amador-Montes, Fernando (Griselda) Amador-Garcia, and Aby, Avery and Tyler O'Neal, one great-great-grandchild, Mia Amador-Garcia. He is also survived by his siblings, Jim (Georgia) Grube, Allen (Pam) Grube, Sharon Shock, Arden (Mike) Patterson and Gwen (Jim) Cady.

Leon is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Venus, an infant brother, Sherwin, and brother-in-law, Charles Shock.

A memorial service will be held on January 2, 2026, at Allnutt Funeral Service, Macy Chapel, 6521 W. 20th Street, Greeley, at 10:00 a.m., with a reception immediately following. Memorial contributions in Leon's name may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Greeley.
