Leroy attended Kersey High School and Aims Community College. He enlisted in the Air Force on November 3, 1950 and served as Staff Sergeant, 3rd Aviation Depot Squadron in Guam, until he was honorably discharged on November 14, 1955. He married Elnora Hoke on October 14, 1979 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Leroy and Elnora have three sons and a daughter. He was a successful salesman for office supplies here in the Greeley area. He attended St. John’s United Church of Christ, foremost of his life. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Leroy enjoyed playing golf, fishing and the outdoors. He was a lover of horses and alpacas. He spent time with his sons riding motorcycles and participating in his local cub scouts.
He is survived by his sons, Roger (Mary) Lenhart of Greeley, Russell (Theresa) Lenhart of Estes Park, step son Robert Harmon of Fort Collins, and step daughter Janet Harmon of Pueblo, grandchildren Joel (Lauren) Lenhart of Commerce City, Vanessa Lenhart, of Greeley, Chris (Ritchelle) Lenhart, of Loveland, and Andrea Harmon, of Fort Collins, great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Trevor, and Lara Lenhart, of Loveland, and Triston Harmon of Fort Collins.
Leroy is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and siblings, Leona Geisick, Robert Lenhart and Betty Scheidt.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 22, at Allnutt Funeral Service - Macy Chapel, 6521 W. 20th Street, Greeley, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., with a Funeral Service immediately following at 2:00 p.m. Burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to F.F.A. of Kersey High School.
