

Leroy attended school in Milliken and Leadville, Colorado he later moved to Denver with his family. He served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1965-1967. As a radio operator in communications and spent time in Germany and Spain. Leroy worked for DCS Construction and Reds Excavation as a heavy equipment operator. For the last four years, Leroy managed Bella Vista Mobile Home Park, he was a well-respected, hard-working man.
Leroy moved to Greeley in 1970. On June 27, 1970, Leroy married Darlene Martinez. Leroy was a family man who loved his children and grandchildren dearly. Leroy was a dependable father and grandfather.
Leroy enjoyed river fishing in Glen Haven.
Leroy is survived by his wife Darlene Martinez; mother, Isabel Martinez; three daughters, Arlene (Frank) Barrientes, Monica Martinez (Domingo Torres), Ava Martinez (Brandon Blea); three sons, Leroy Jr. (Nichole) Martinez, Jim Martinez, Joseph Martinez; five sisters, Jenny (Frank) Gallegos, Julia Medina, Francis (Joe) Romero, Ruby (John) Rosales, Theresa (Fred) Valdez; one brother, Joe (Charlotte) Martinez; four brothers-in-law, Albert Martinez, Ricky (Maria) Martinez, Robert Martinez and Glen (Andrea) Martinez; three sisters-in-law, Theresa Salgado, Susie Martinez and Joann (Raymond) Cisneros; twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is preceded by is his father, Manuel and one brother, Moses Martinez,
