Leslie "Les" Harlan Brumley

Leslie “Les” H. Brumley, 88, of Greeley, Colorado, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at North Colorado Medical Center. He was born August 18, 1933 in La Salle, Colorado to Claude and Pearl V. (Lonhart) Brumley.

Les was raised in the Greeley area his entire life. He graduated from Greeley High School in 1951. He served in the United States Navy as a Medical Corpsman from 1952 to 1956. On September 11, 1954, Les married Naomi R. Mitchell in Greeley. They recently celebrated 67 years of marriage. After the Navy, he farmed with the family briefly until he went into floor covering. Les owned and operated Brumley’s Floor Covering. The store was a fixture in Greeley for 51 years.

Les was raised in the church. Les and Naomi were members of Bethel Baptist, then Grace Baptist, then in their later years at Eaton E. Free. Les loved his Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, and served him faithfully in many capacities.

Les was a board member of the Rocky Mountain Baptist conference. He was also a member of the Kiwanis and a board member of Saturday nights in Greeley. His main love was serving and growing in the Lord, followed by time with family. He loved fishing and hunting. He enjoyed many years at their cabin in Steamboat Springs. He was a pitcher for the church softball team for years.

Les is survived by his wife, Naomi Brumley of Greeley; sons, Chris (Sheryl) Brumley of Titanyen, Haiti and Kevin (Faith) Brumley of Briggsdale, Colorado; sisters, Ila (Al) Daniels of Greeley, Jeannine Brumley of Canby, Oregon and Alice Brewster of Durango, Colorado; grandchildren, Jonathan (Molly) Brumley, Jordan Brumley, Joshua (Skyla) Brumley, Jessica (Orin) Francis, Nathan (Brigid) Brumley, Alicia (Will) Price, Cassandra (Tim) Marvin, Kurtis (Morgan) Brumley, Cortney Brumley, Kellen Brumley, Kaylie Brumley; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Pearl Brumley, his son, Keith Brumley and a grandson, Darrell Brumley.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 17, 2022 at the Eaton Evangelical Free Church.
