

Louie grew up in the Torrington, Wyoming area. He worked as a farm hand in Yoder, and traveled to the Pacific Northwest for harvesting of hops and fruit orchards. He also worked at Holly Sugar in Torrington during the sugar beet campaign.
On July 30, 1955, he married Della M. Arebalo in Torrington. She passed away on December 9, 2012.
Louie was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and volunteered for the hospice for three years.
In 1963, the family moved to Gill, Colorado. He later received vocational training in Cheyenne, WY to become an ARC Welder. He was employed at Hydraulics Unlimited while in Ault, CO and later Harsh Hoist in Eaton, CO. He then worked at Eastman Kodak in Windsor, CO where he retired in 1995.
Louie loved music, reading, traveling with his wife, gardening, woodworking and visiting friends.
Above all was his love for his family. He enjoyed taking his wife wherever she wanted to go.
Louie is survived by his daughter, Helen Hernandez of Loveland; two sons, Jason Hernandez and Tom Stephen Hernandez of Greeley; sister, Mabel Romero of Torrington and two brothers, Kayo Hernandez, - Maureen of Gurnsey, Wyoming and John Hernandez - Sally of Pueblo.
He was preceded in death by his wife and soulmate, two daughters, Arlene Hernandez and Louise Hernandez, two sisters, Mary Cano and Olive Barajas and five brothers, Jim Hernandez, George Hernandez, Martin Gonzalez, Valen Hernandez and Mague (Larry) Gonzalez.
A visitation will be from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2014 followed by Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. both at Stoddard Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 10, 2014 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Inurnment at a later date at Linn Grove Cemetery.
