Macine Nolan, 92, of Greeley, died February 15, 2010 at North Colorado Medical Center. She was born April 12, 1917 in Arkansas City, Kansas to Attway and Gertrude Humphry (Gibbens) Starkey. She married Dick Nolan on May 7, 1940 in Arkansas City, Kansas.
Macine and Dick moved to Greeley in 1948 where he was a football and tennis coach at Greeley High School. They started Nolan’s Aviation in 1950 and Nolan’s Crop Dusting 1954. They sold these businesses in 1976 and developed Nolan’s Apartments. Macine was a volunteer for the United Way and American Cancer Society. She was a breast cancer survivor and volunteered time visiting with women faced with breast cancer. She loved to play bingo, especially when she won. Macine’s grandsons were the joy of her life.
Macine is survived by her son Richard Nolan, II and his wife Bunny and two grandsons Devon Nolan and Morgan Nolan all of Greeley. She was preceded in death by her husband.
Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday at Stoddard Funeral Home.
