Mary A Burch

Mary attended St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing in Denver from 1957 to 1960.Upon graduation, as a registered nurse, she worked at St. Joseph’s as a surgical scrub nurse for a year.

She married William D. Burch on June 18, 1960 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Denver. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

While raising their children, she was active with Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and Boy Scouts. Mary then attended the University Of Northern Colorado from 1976 – 1980. During that time she studied the arts in Florence, Italy. She graduated Suma Cum Laude with a degree in Fine Arts. Mary was gifted in the fine arts as a painter, sculptor and photographer. She loved to play bridge, golf and was active in various bowling leagues.

Mary loved to travel and made trips throughout Europe. After her husband retired they enjoyed spending the winters in Arizona and travel to be with their family. She was a well-rounded person and enjoyed her life.

Mary is survived by her husband William; two daughters, Carolyn Bartlett of Lafayette and Susan Hamby (Dave) of Twin Falls, Idaho; her son Robert Burch (Shelley) of Colorado Springs; two sisters, Ann Storer of Chicago, Illinois and Jeri Green (Rodney) of Virginia; two brothers, Jerry Mivshek (Pat) of Rock Springs, Wyoming and William Mivshek (Maryann) of Arvada; 8 grandchildren, Kendra, Morgan, and Zach Burch of Colorado Springs, Brittney , Breanna, and Braden Bartlett of Lafayette, and David and Stephanie Baty of Greeley. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Mivshek.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Monday, March 31 with Recitation of the Rosary following at 7:00 p.m. at Stoddard Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 1, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Private inurnment will be at a later date.
