Mary Alice Carroll

She was born in 1945 and grew up in Greeley with her parents, Clair and Mary Carpenter, and her 3 siblings. She grew up in a home full of love, laughter, and music. Mary was proud to have been a member of the last 8th grade graduating class of Hazleton and worked for years to save the school as a historical building. Mary attended college high and later graduated from Rio Salado with a degree in chemical dependency counseling.

In 1961 Mary married Dean Burham and from this union she was blessed with her first daughter. Although the marriage ended Mary continued to provide and support her daughter through diligence and hard work. Mary worked for State Farm early in her career. In 1970, she married the love of her life John Carroll and they were blessed with 2 more children. She later worked for Goodwill Industries as well as the sugar campaign for many years. Mary later worked for Northern Colorado Hospice and volunteered at the Frontier House before moving to Arizona in 2000, where she worked at Circle K for 14 years.

When Mary finally retired she stayed busy with traveling, riding motorcycles with her husband, bowling, and her red and black hat groups. Mary was an amazing woman who never met a stranger, always had a smile to share, and loved her church and family.

Mary was preceded to heaven by her parents Clair and Mary Carpenter, her brother Clair Carpenter, her sister Sherri Kaspar, her beloved husband of 51 years John Carroll, and her baby boy Shane Carroll. Mary's memory will continue to be cherished by her daughters Elaine Hayes, Janelle Falk (Lonnie), her sister Lucretia Steele (Sam), her 12 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and her 2 great-great grandchildren.

A viewing for Mary will be held Saturday, July 19, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 West 28th Street, Greeley, CO 80634. A funeral service will follow at 10:00 AM. An interment will occur Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 3400 W 28th St, Greeley, CO 80634.
