

Mary Louise Hecht, 97, of Loveland passed away on October 1, 2015. Mary was born on March 2, 1918 in Drumright, OK to Bon H. and Sina Ann (Boydstun) Smith. She graduated Valedictorian from DeNoya High School in 1935 and married Laurence E. Hecht on July 14, 1937. Mary lived in Loveland from 1976 to 2007 when she moved to Thornton.
During World War II, Mary worked at McDonald Douglas Aircraft managing inventory. She also sold war bonds. She is a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loveland. Mary enjoyed bowling, bridge club and gardening. She was a board member of the Colorado Federation of Garden Clubs.
Mary is survived by her daughter M. Lauren (Thomas) Egan of Thornton; grandchildren Katherine (Kenneth) Barela of Thornton, Sara Hoff of Thornton and Brian Hoff (Maureen) of Broomfield; great grandchildren Emily Hoff, Kaiya Barela, Keegan Barela, Kason Barela, Addilee Hoff and Magdaline Hoff. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Laurence and her sister Bettye Smedley.
There will be a viewing on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 from 6pm to 9pm at Allnutt Funeral Service in Loveland and a Mass of Christian Burial 10:00am Thursday, October 8, 2015 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment will be 11:30am at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Fort Collins. There will be a reception following the interment back at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of Allnutt Funeral Service.
