Mary Ann Montoya of Denver, formerly of Greeley, died Monday, November 15, 2010 at Pikes Peak Care & Rehab in Colorado Springs. She was born July 14, 1921 in Ault to Frank R. and Juanita (Martinez) Lopez. She was reared and educated in Ault.
On August 16, 1939, she married Max R. Montoya in Boulder. After marriage, she was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, fishing and camping trips with her husband. He died July 31, 1991.
Mary Ann was a charter member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church , Greeley, CO; a member of Altar and Rosary Society and Holy Family. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Pioneer Post No. 2121, V.F.W. and the Greeley Senior Citizens.
She is survived by her two daughters Maxine Chavez of Colorado Springs and Cinderella Epstein of Denver; three sons Gerald Montoya and wife Jenny of Denver, Daniel Montoya and wife Patty of Aurora and Ronald Montoya and wife Josephina of Greeley; two sisters Florence Garcia of Brighton and Elizabeth Harsh of Broomfield; thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by several sisters and brothers.
Recitiation of the Rosary 7 p.m. Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Friday, November 19, 2010 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
