

Nancy Jane (Plumb) Allnutt, 90, of Greeley passed away August 11, 2018 in Greeley. She was born May 22, 1928 to Fred and Anna Marie (Greenway) Plumb. She was raised on a farm west of Kersey by her Grandmother (Sadie Greenway) and father Fred after her mother passed when she was 2 years old. She attended school in Kersey and graduated from Greeley High School after the family moved to Greeley. Following high school, she attended and graduated from Colorado Women’s College. On August 22, 1948 she married her high school sweetheart, Jack S. Allnutt. Living in Denver as newlyweds, Jack attended DU, and Nancy became the first married women to work for Braniff Airlines in reservations. While Jack attended mortuary school in Dallas in 1951, Nancy and Jack welcomed their first-born, Wendy (Allnutt) Walsh. After moving back to Greeley, the following year they welcomed their second child, Steve Allnutt and then they welcomed in 1957 their third child, Mark Allnutt. While raising her family, Nancy joined PEO Chapter I, where she later served as President. She was an active member of the First Congregational Church for 70 years and participated in many church groups and activities. She was a member of the Union Colony Pioneer Society and was proud of the Plumb, White and Allnutt heritage going back to Greeley’s Union Colony. Nancy was an avid skier, tennis player and bridge player where she developed many lasting friendships. She and Jack were also world travelers visiting South America, Asia, Canada, Europe, and Russia with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father Fred Plumb; mother Anna Marie (Greenway) Plumb; infant brother, David A. Plumb; grandmother Sadie Greenway; and husband of 58 years Jack S. Allnutt.
She leaves behind her daughter Wendy S. (Nic) Walsh; sons J. Steven (Patricia) Allnutt, and Mark A. (Tammy) Allnutt, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
The family would especially like to thank the care givers at Brookdale Greeley & Pathways Hospice for their dedicated and loving care of Nancy. They made our lives and our mom’s life so much easier and better.
A visitation will be held at Allnutt Funeral Service, Macy Chapel on Sunday August 19th from 7pm to 9pm. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 on Monday August 20th at the First Congregational Church located at 2101 16th Street in Greeley. Immediately following the service, a reception will be held in the church Fellowship Hall. Interment at Linn Grove Cemetery will follow the reception at 1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Pathways Hospice, or the First Congregational Church in Greeley. Donations may be made in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 702 13th Street, Greeley, CO 80631.
