

Opal Fern Hostetler Deuth, a longtime resident of Fort Collins, passed away on August 7, 2017 at the age of 106. She was born in Morrison, OK to Harry Hupp and Cora Fowler Hupp. She was Miss Wichita 1932 and met her first husband former Detroit Tigers baseball player Charles C. “Chuck” Hostetler in Wichita, KS where they raised 3 children.
In addition to her parents and only sister Gertrude, she was preceded in death by her first husband Chuck Hostetler and survived by their children Rella Boyce of Abilene, TX, Charles D. (Paulette) of Anchorage, AK, and James M. (Sandy) of Castle Pines, CO; 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter. She is also survived by 2 nieces and so many other dear family and friends.
Opal was also preceded in death by her second husband Forrest Deuth who was a long time resident of Fort Collins and worked many years for Colorado State University, and she is survived by her stepdaughter Maryann Deuth of Port Angeles, WA, 1 grandson, and 2 great grandchildren.
