Being an Army brat, she was born in Nuremberg, Germany in 1951. She graduated from Fairview High in Boulder Colorado and later received both her BS and MA in Education from the University of Colorado. She was a teacher for thirty-two years and upon retiring she began a new career at Macy’s where she happily worked for another seven years.
At the young age of 64, Jane was vibrant, beautiful and energetic. She tried to pack into each day as much fun and joy as she could. Jane was witty, so very intelligent and we had great and stimulating conversations. She had fun with her fluent Spanish, rattling off conversations when the opportunity arose.
Jane and I also both enjoyed our “me time” but we came together each evening to share our experiences. We truly enjoyed each others company and our lives lovingly and admiringly intertwined. There are so many fond memories of our doing things we enjoyed together. We understood each other so well and continued to grow closer and closer over the years.
In her spare time she enjoyed gardening and as testament to her talent are the spring flowers which have blossomed in our yard. Being a true animal lover, Jane enjoyed breeding and raising Labrador puppies. Jane swam 50 laps most days (after running took a toll on her knees), enjoyed taking our dogs for long walks and was an avid reader and a talented writer.
Below is the conclusion of a letter, written shortly before her passing, that I’d like to share with you.
“The sun will come up tomorrow, the seasons will change, life will go on. Fill yourselves with all the joy you can fit in your hearts in the days and years ahead. Remember me with a smile.”
Jane is survived by Richard, her husband of 33 years, her parents Mary Lou and Allen Hall of Greeley, her sisters, Christine Feldhus, (and her husband Kevin) of Boston, and Susan Beaman, of Thornton, as well as one niece and three nephews.
A service of “Celebration of Life” at Trinity Episcopal Church in Greeley are to be held at 1:30 pm onTuesday, the 28th of June. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society and/or the Longmont Humane Society in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 702 13th Street, Greeley, Colorado, 80631.
Jane, you will always be treasured in my heart.
Hold each other tight,
~Richard
